Chip in to pressure Ministers Freeland, Ng and Guibeault to drop TMX

“Trans Mountain no longer continues to be a profitable undertaking.” - Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO)

The latest report from the government’s own budget office clearly states that the Trans Mountain (TMX) pipeline will lose public money. [1]

In 2018, the federal government justified their purchase of the pipeline from Kinder Morgan by saying the profits will pay for climate action and green energy. [2] This justification has evaporated and now taxpayers are on the hook for over $20 billion. [3]

But we’re not giving up. The fight to stop TMX is ongoing and with every delay and cost increase, we get closer and closer to winning the fight. Cabinet Ministers Chrystia Freeland, Mary Ng, and Steven Guilbeault have the power to end this climate-killing project. And with the project a confirmed financial sinkhole, a massive wave of public pressure could force them to do what's right and cancel TMX once and for all.

So here's our plan. We're going to call out Finance Minister Freeland's irresponsibility in her own riding and in front of her constituents, with a flashy billboard exposing TMX for the terrible investment it is — and if we raise enough, we’ll ramp up the pressure on Ministers Guilbeault and Ng too. We have a billboard vendor on standby but we need to raise $14,599 by Friday to lock the ad space this week. Will you chip in now to make it happen?
