Location: Flexible, with preference for Toronto or Vancouver 
Compensation: $67,783.20, plus benefits including paid vacation and sick leaves.

This is a unionized position with BCGEU. Note: we are working a 4 day, 32 hour, Mon-Thurs week, salary unchanged, with the intention to ratify in the collective agreement after the trial period.

We’re seeking a dedicated, focused, and organized Campaigns Manager to cover a parental leave through to July 2024. The ideal candidate will be committed to putting our members at the forefront of social change, have demonstrated abilities in leading innovative digital campaigns to drive engagement, fundraising, and impact, and have a collaborative, empowering leadership style. About the role:

Reporting to the Campaigns Director, the Campaigns Manager leads on Leadnow’s digital campaigns work. This includes managing the digital workstream, campaign development and coordination, data-driven implementation and managing campaigners.

The Campaigns Manager helps identify and develop strategies for our campaigns, ensures high-quality campaign content across Leadnow channels, with a special focus on email, and works with the rest of our campaigns team to deepen engagement and ensure our campaigns have growing impact. 

With the support of the Campaigns Director, the Campaigns Manager assigns resources and identifies campaigns to achieve key metrics (community growth, diversification, engagement, and member-based fundraising targets). As a member of senior staff at Leadnow, the Campaign Manager also helps set and evaluate the strategic direction of the organization.

More specifically, you’ll:

LEAD ON:

Digital campaign development and data-driven implementation
  • Supports and collaborates with campaigners and organizers to identify and develop strategic campaigning and digital fundraising opportunities
  • Leads or supports (depending on the campaign) on crafting campaign strategy
  • Drafts, edits and signs off on campaign communications and emails that are well-researched, effectively messaged and speak to issues the Leadnow community cares about
  • Seeks opportunities to deepen our campaign impacts through follow-up tactics and actions
  • Supports engagement strategies to serve membership growth, campaigns and digital fundraising
  • Ensures high-quality work and assesses and mitigates the risk of potential and ongoing campaigns
  • Project manages specific rapid response and medium-term campaigns

Managing the digital workstream, campaigns coordination and campaigners
  • Leads on long-term visioning, goal setting and planning of Leadnow’s digital workstream to meet the priorities of the organization
  • Works with other campaign managers to set campaigning priorities
  • Manages and supports campaign staff and contractors and coordinates digital campaigning team to execute high-quality campaigns
  • Identifies, develops, and trains the team on best practices to improve the quality and efficiency of our digital, and particularly rapid response campaign delivery 
  • Facilitates campaign coordination meetings, creates templates, and maintains project planning processes within the digital workstream

SUPPORT ON:
Achieving targets and ensuring campaign quality
  • Helps the Campaigns Director oversee the development and execution of campaigns and capacity to meet the priorities and metrics (growth, diversification, fundraising, engagement and impact) of the organization
  • Supports data-driven and qualitative evaluation of campaigns on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Ensures high-quality content across campaigns and channels
  • Helps develop and maintain workflows, project management and decision-making processes that guide the work of the overall campaigns team

Organizational development and strategic planning
  • Helps to shape the overall strategic direction of the organization, and at times takes responsibility for recruitment, team building and organizational special projects
  • Helps to develop Leadnow’s communication and framing strategy to align with our strategic goals, and supports the campaigns team in crafting effective messages
  • As part of the management team, helps identify and implement strategies and resources for team health and leadership development

  • You’re excited about working in a pro-active anti-oppression work environment that engages in necessary and sometimes tough conversations and trainings to identify and dismantle structural inequalities within and beyond Leadnow
  • You’re open-minded and willing to learn new approaches to your role, and keen to find innovative approaches to challenges
  • Comfortable with online collaboration tools such as Google Docs, Slack, Zoom or similar

Big pluses:

  • You understand basic data analysis and analytics, and A/B testing, particularly in a digital campaigning environment
  • You have skills in Government Relations, media, or public relations
  • You’re familiar with the MoveOn/Avaaz/Change.org model of digital campaigning
