The Conservative party is courting hate. Their annual convention starts this week – and being tabled are a series of motions which, if passed, will enshrine trans and queer hate as official Conservative Party policy.

But these motions haven’t passed yet, and the main reason Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative Party is considering them is to provide bait to energize their far-right supporters. So to stop them in their tracks, we need to prove that supporting these dangerous policies could cost them crucial votes in the next election.

If thousands of us email our Conservative MPs right now, we could show them that the majority of Canadians don’t support these policies — and that Conservative support for them will risk their electability. It could help convince them to vote against these harmful anti-trans policies at the CPC convention.

As your constituent, I am deeply concerned about a series of motions being tabled at the upcoming Conservative Party convention. The motions in question being: “Protecting Female Sports, Intimate Spaces and Women's Rights”, and the motion for “Protecting Children's Mental and Physical Health”.

This convention will bring to light the priorities and values that the CPC hopes to champion over the coming year. If passed, these motions would enshrine hate as the official position of the Conservative Party.

Sections 2.1.6 and 2.1.7 of the principles listed in the CPC constitution state the belief in “the value and dignity of all human life” and the “belief in the equality of all Canadians.” These proposed motions run directly counter to those principles, and would enshrine trans-erasive rhetoric and hate directly into the fabric of the Conservative Party.

Canadians don’t stand for hate. I’m asking you to make a choice against hate and vote against these harmful motions at the Conservative Party convention this week.
