Send a message: Stop the Bay du Nord project

The federal government just extended the deadline for their decision on Equinor’s massive new Bay du Nord project off the coast of Newfoundland.1 That means we still have a chance to slam the brakes on the billion barrel oil drilling project.

Approving new fossil fuel projects like Bay du Nord will push us further away from our climate goals and lock us into years of climate destruction.2 The federal government knows this — but with cabinet ministers still split and masses of public opposition, they're dragging their feet on making a decision.3

People power is working: thousands of Leadnow members, climate experts, and local community members have spoken out and now the decision is delayed. If we can ramp up the pressure right now, we could force the Trudeau government to block this climate-wrecking project and invest in sustainable jobs and communities instead. But with only 35 days until the new deadline we have to act fast.
