Protect the CBC

Public media and news play a vital role in a democracy — it keep us informed and can help keep those in power accountable.

With Trump threatening annexation and waging economic war, we need independent public media more than ever. Defunding the CBC would leave millions of people more dependent on right-wing, US-owned media.

We must prevent the Americanization of our media and protect the CBC. We need loud support from our federal leaders — but not all have stepped up. With the federal election in full swing, we are calling on Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre to commit to protecting public media in Canada. Protect the CBC.

Public media plays a vital role in our democracy, and right now it’s under threat. Already, a US hedge fund owns the biggest news outlet in Canada. We must stop the Americanization of our media.
