MPs: don’t ram through the “Polluters First” Bill

Right now, Carney’s Liberals are ramming through an omnibus bill — Bill C-5 — that would allow them to fast-track vaguely-defined “national interest” projects by giving them upfront approval and pushing them through a shortened federal review process.

In practice, this “Polluters First” Bill would allow the government to sidestep environmental protections, silence communities, and violate Indigenous rights to ram projects through to the benefit of multi-billion dollar corporations.

Corporate-backed fossil fuel projects are not in our national interest. Will you send your MP a message right now, calling on them to oppose Carney’s attempt to fast-track Bill C-5 and refuse to pass the bill in its current form?
