No Nation-wrecking Pipelines

With a new government in power and “nation-building” projects at the top of the priority list: this could be a turning point in Canada’s role in addressing climate change and the affordability crisis.

And right now, Danielle Smith and the fossil fuel industry are knocking on Carney’s door to push ahead pipeline projects.

But pipelines are not the answer to building a resilient Canada. They don’t enrich Canada — they enrich multi-billion-dollar corporations. They don’t protect our future —  they put everyday people on the hook for the climate disasters they cause.

Let Carney’s Cabinet know: No pipelines in a climate emergency.

Here is the text of the petition to Cabinet:

We, the undersigned, are writing to urge you and your government to reject the approval and construction of any new pipelines in Canada. While we recognize and appreciate the federal government’s ambition to build urgently needed infrastructure for the public good, this must not come at the expense of our planet or our rights.

Pipelines are not a path to a resilient future — they are a dangerous step backward. Pipelines tie Canada to a declining industry just as the rest of the world races toward a clean energy future. This risks leaving our workers, our communities and our economy behind.

Canada must choose projects that protect our future, not projects that threaten it. Now is the time for bold leadership that aligns with science and the public will.

Say no to new pipelines.
