Demand Canada’s Big Five Banks stay in the Net Zero Climate Alliance

Undeniably, the climate crisis is here. And yet just this past week, major Canadian banks like RBC and BMO have signalled that they are considering leaving Net Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA) — an initiative for climate action by private banks.

We need to send a clear message that this backsliding is unacceptable. Together, we can show these banks that empty climate promises won’t cut it anymore. Sign now and demand Canada’s major banks step up their climate commitments — and stay in the Net Zero Banking Alliance.

CEO of RBC, BMO, TD, CIBC and Scotiabank:

We, the undersigned, demand that you stay in the Net-Zero Climate Alliance. The climate crisis is here: 2024 was the hottest year on record, and now more than ever, we need real climate action. We all have a part to play — we urge you to show leadership in the banking industry and stay in the Net-Zero Climate Alliance.
