Senate: Don’t rubber-stamp Carney’s “Polluters First” Bill

Carney’s Liberals are ramming through an omnibus bill — Bill C-5 — that would allow them to fast-track vaguely-defined “national interest” projects by giving them upfront approval and pushing them through a shortened federal review process.

In practice, this “Polluters First” Bill would allow the government to sidestep environmental protections, silence communities, and violate Indigenous rights to ram projects through to the benefit of multi-billion dollar corporations.

The bill is being read in the Senate right now. Will you send an email to the Senate calling on them to oppose this attempt to fast-track Bill C-5 and make amendments to protect the planet and our communities? After you send an email, you will be prompted to also call a Senator’s office!

Calls can be an even more effective way to reach them. We’ve provided talking points — it doesn’t have to be a long message or conversation — even saying you oppose this Bill C-5 helps build the pressure.
