Liberal leadership candidates: put people over corporations
With Trump’s threats, an affordability crisis and climate disaster looming, we can’t afford a toxic vision like Pierre Poilievre’s that prioritizes profits over people and the planet. The Liberal Party must choose to act for the people, not corporations.
With less than a month until the leadership vote, we need leaders who fight for affordable homes, tackle the climate crisis, and ensure billionaires pay their fair share. It’s time to raise the bar.
Dear, Mark Carney, Chrystia Freeland, Karina Gould, Frank Baylis and Ruby Dhalla,
All of us — no matter where we come from or how much we make — should be able to put food on the table and afford a good place to call home. But right now, that’s not our reality and greedy corporations are to blame.
We’re done with politicians who talk big and deliver little. This election, we’re taking a stand against sellout politicians and their Big Business backers — we need leaders who aren’t afraid to stand with us.
Canadians want someone who will fight to ensure every person in Canada has a safe, affordable place to call home; is ready to tackle the climate crisis and build a renewable energy economy worthy of working people; and make Canada’s billionaire class pay their fair share with a tax on record-high corporate profits.
The answer is progressive, bold policies that build a democracy based on justice and fairness. We, the undersigned, are calling on you to step up to the challenge.
