Compensation: This is a permanent, full-time position, with the organization currently operating on a pilot of a 4 day work week (Mon-Thurs, 32 hours) expected to be ratified mid-2022. Annual salary starting at $56,008.20, plus health benefits provided upon successful completion of 3 month probation period. Benefits include 3 weeks of vacation, personal days + holiday closure between Christmas and New Year’s, as well as sick leave. Unionized with BCGEU.

Location: Vancouver (must be in Vancouver area for proximity to bank and post office, though team members are currently working remotely due to COVID)

We’re seeking an organized and personable Fundraising Coordinator to join our team to support, primarily, our monthly sustainers program and donors. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and enjoy connecting with our community of donors to support them in their giving.

The Role:

The Fundraising Coordinator, reporting to the Executive Director, is the primary point of contact for donors—particularly monthly sustainers—and for the service provider that helps Leadnow to grow our monthly donor community. Supporting donors and the monthly sustainers program includes administrative donations processing and metrics tracking functions, as well as support on stewardship activities. As the finance and operations team member based in Vancouver, this role also provides occasional operations support.

Core Responsibilities:

Donor Stewardship, Correspondence, and Support

  • As the primary point of contact for donors, respond to telephone, voicemail and email inquiries from donors, drawing support from others on the team as needed

  • Coordinate or provide support for donor stewardship activities, including thank you cards and events dedicated to donor stewardship and engagement

  • Maintain template communication resources for donors

  • Support donors to make or change their donations.

  • Compile donor feedback for the campaigns team; liaising with the campaigns team to respond to campaign-related questions from donors

Donations Processing and Fundraising Administration

  • As the primary point of contact for Public Outreach—our service provider that helps grow our monthly donor community—meet regularly to respond to needs arising, and process donations acquired

  • Maintain fundraising metrics, provide preliminary analysis and suggest solutions as issues arise with data and processing

  • Receive, deposit, and data-track cheque donations

  • Support twice-monthly fundraising meetings

  • Assist with and consult on fundraising planning and resource development

Finance & Operations

  • As the sole member of the finance & operations team based in Vancouver:

    • Receive mail and notify appropriate staff of items requiring action

    • As capacity allows, occasionally assist with planning and logistics for staff events

What we’re looking for

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in customer service or related sector

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing needs to attend to multiple responsibilities 

  • Trustworthy, reliable, able to maintain confidentiality

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new processes

  • Strong written and spoken communication in English, including a polite, articulate, and friendly phone manner

  • Enjoys engaging with members and donors via email and phone communication as regular part of work

  • Tactful and open to understanding other perspectives

  • Confident problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Self-directed, self-starting work style

  • Ability to research information and summarize key details

Desired Additional Attributes:

  • Experience with small donor fundraising or in fund development

  • Experience with online systems such as Stripe, Paypal, iATS

  • Work experience with non-profit administration or fundraising is a bonus
